  3. No Sacrifice, No Victory.

“A 14-YEAR-OLD boy drank gasoline for five years to obtain “energy” – just as his idols “Bumble Bee” or “Optimus Prime” do in “Transformers,” the Sichuan-based West China Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.”

  5. PETA asks Ben and Jerry’s to replace cow’s milk with breast milk

The PETA statement reads “[the] request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for much of the cow’s milk in the food he serves.” The letter also says “the fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn’t make sense. Everyone knows that ‘the breast is best,’ so Ben & Jerry’s could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch.”

The folks at Ben & Jerry’s declined the idea and in a statement said, “We applaud PETA’s novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child.”

  6. For the Fixieheads

    hydroelectricride01

Looks like some hooligans took their fixies on a ride of their life in a hydroelectric power station accumulation pool. Think of a velodrome times infinity!

hydroelectricride02Now only if we could be transported to a time where there’s massive velo-thunder-domes. Riders weilding weapons and fighting to the death! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! BREAK A DEAL! FACE THE WHEEL!

  7. move ins to ruins

One night I was driving and some random radio talk station popped up during the radio scan thing.  On the station, a photographer, James D. Griffioen, was being interviewed about his work.  It’s amazing work and if you can, visit his site, browse through the photos.  There’s too much background info for me to say what his work in Detroit is about…lol

But to me, Griffioen’s work pretty much captures what we’re leaving behind for the future.  We as humans tend to abandon a lot of things.  It’s an interesting way to look at ourselves and what we want our mark to be, what we want our work to look like years from now.  Where will it all end up?  I don’t know.  But go to his Detroit blog and read all about it!  What do you think?

"The Tree" is a crazy photograph. The little tree in the middle of the picture is actually growing from the books that have just disintegrated into dirt and ashes.

  8. Rendezvous in Paris
